It wasn't just about my personal connection to the area, though. Dallas-Fort Worth is a dynamic and competitive real estate market with luxury properties and fast-moving listings. But breaking into a market like DFW isn't something you do lightly. As we officially introduce Decker as our lead photographer for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I couldn't be more excited to have him on the team. He's already helping agents showcase their listings with high-quality photos, video tours, and aerial shots that turn heads.
I had the chance to sit down with Decker for a Q&A to learn more about his journey, his inspiration, and what makes him tick. Here's what he shared.
Q&A with Realkit Photographer Decker Branch
Q: Can you tell us about yourself and where you're from?
"Hi, y'all. I'm Decker Branch, and I'm from Richardson, TX," Decker shared. "I've lived in the DFW Metroplex my whole life, spending time in Flower Mound, Waco, and even New York City."
Decker describes his childhood as one filled with sports and teamwork. He spent most of his time on baseball diamonds and basketball courts. These days, golf has become his sport of choice. "I play a decent amount of golf now, but growing up, I was all about baseball and basketball," he added.
Regarding favorite movies, Decker has a soft spot for humor and nostalgia. "Space Jam is my all-time favorite. The Goonies, Talladega Nights, and the Rush Hour series are also high on my list. I just love to laugh."
He also shared his personal life: "I've been married for three years, and earlier this year, we added a labrador to our family. She's a belly-rub fanatic and brings us so much joy."
Q: How did you first get interested in videography/photography?
"My love for photography and videography started with movies," Decker explained. "As a kid, I was fascinated by how stories were told on-screen. It wasn't just about watching—it was about imagining what went on behind the camera."
Decker said he found himself captivated by behind-the-scenes features. "Seeing what goes into creating a movie sparked something in me. I could picture myself being part of that process, crafting visuals that tell a story. That's where the dream started."
Q: What is your favorite hobby outside of work?
Decker's favorite pastimes involve quality time with his wife and dog. "For date nights, we love finding a good patio at a Tex-Mex restaurant with great fajitas and margaritas," he shared.
Regarding outdoor activities, golf is a favorite for him and his wife. "We're not big hikers, but golf is our way to enjoy the outdoors. My wife is the MVP in a scramble—her drives leave us with easy shots into the greens!"
Decker's labrador is also a big part of his downtime. "I love taking her on walks and playing fetch in the backyard. She's already rolling over for belly scratches the second we step outside. She's got us trained pretty well!"
Q: What sets Realkit apart from other real estate media companies?

He added that Realkit's personality as a company is a key differentiator. "There are a handful of elite real estate media companies in DFW, and Realkit holds its own against the best. But what makes us unique is the personality we bring. Life's good when surrounded by talented people, and life's even better when that talent is enjoyable to be around."
Q: What has been the most rewarding property or project you've worked on with Realkit, and why?
"One property that sticks out to me was in really tough shape," Decker recalled. "Honestly, it didn't deserve more than a Standard Photo Package—snap a few pictures and move on. But I saw it as a challenge."
Decker decided to go the extra mile, creating a Highlight Video Package that made the property shine. "I kept thinking, 'How can I make this battered house look way nicer than it is?' I gave it my all, and the realtor was thrilled with the results."
He also shared a detail from the shoot that stuck with him: "On my way out, I noticed a small sign near the front door that said, Be grateful. That's something I carry with me—no matter the property, we always bring our best to make it shine."
Q: If you weren't a photographer, what other career would you be great at?
Decker didn't hesitate to answer: motivational speaking. "I get excited about what makes other people excited," he said. "For me, mindset and preparation are everything. Even when a task seems impossible, persistence and determination can carry you through."
